Strength is the primary damage dealing stat for melee classes, lancer, pugilist, marauder and gladiator, and jobs, dragoon, monk, warrior and paladin. Higher strength equals higher Attack Power for these melee classes. Strength no longer affects parry or block percentage with Heavensward. Also has no effect for rogue and ninja, despite them being melee. They use dexterity instead.
