Field operations, also known as adventuring forays and often referred to by players as exploration zones, are endgame content for several expansions of Final Fantasy XIV. They consist of large-scale battlefield duties and raids, connected by storyline quests. These are optional and are not part of the Main Scenario. Each field operation has special gameplay mechanics. The Stormblood and Shadowbringers field operations are tied to the expansion's Relic Weapons.
Occult Crescent (Dawntrail)
Occult Crescent is a level 100 field operations series that will be released later into the Dawntrail expansion.
Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr (Shadowbringers)
Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr is the level 80 field operations series introduced with the Shadowbringers expansion.
It comprises two 72-player battlefield duties (The Bozjan Southern Front and Zadnor), a set of raids (Castrum Lacus Litore, The Dalriada, Delubrum Reginae and Delubrum Reginae (Savage)), and trial-like encounters (Critical Engagements).
Players can obtain new gear, experience new gameplay mechanics, and have the opportunity to forge Resistance Weapons, a new set of Relic Weapons.
The Forbidden Land, Eureka (Stormblood)
The Forbidden Land, Eureka is the level 70 field operations series released in the Stormblood expansion. It consists of four zones allowing up to 144 players simultaneously:
- The Forbidden Land, Eureka Anemos
- The Forbidden Land, Eureka Pagos
- The Forbidden Land, Eureka Pyros
- The Forbidden Land, Eureka Hydatos
The series concludes with the Baldesion Arsenal alliance raid.
In Eureka, players can obtain the level 70 relic weapon series, the Eurekan Weapons, as well as many other unique items.
The Baldesion Arsenal
Exploratory Missions (Heavensward)
Exploratory Missions, Heavensward's original field operations version of the Diadem, was replaced in patch 5.21 with the current gatherer-only zone to support the Ishgardian Restoration.
Retired items may still be kept in inventory but can no longer be obtained from gameplay. Tradable items may still be obtained from the Market Board or directly trading with other players.
