In the lands of Tural, there is a class of beasts which transcends the limits of the natural order─the tural vidraal. The mightiest of these, the feared and fearsome Valigarmanda, caused centuries of suffering until it was at last sealed away in the mountain fastness of Urqopacha by a young Gulool Ja Ja. Eighty years later, however, a foolish claimant in the rite of succession has seen fit to release the Skyruin from its icy prison. If you would spare Tural's people a new age of terror, then you must stand with Wuk Lamat against this flying calamity and its endless elemental fury.

Guide

This trial can be undertaken with other players or with a party of NPCs through Duty Support. If using Duty Support, you will begin the battle with one stack of Willful icon1.png Willful. If you would be KO'd, instead a stack of Willful will be consumed to ignite the Will to live icon1.png Will to Live, immobilizing you and protecting from most damage for several seconds. Note that falling off the arena will reset the battle regardless of this buff.

Aggressive difficulty r6.png Tural Vidraal: Valigarmanda

During the battle, the boss will cycle between fire, ice, and thunder mini-phases, each with their own set of mechanics.

  • Body animation attacks: Basic attacks indicated by the animation of the boss with late AoE telegraphs. The first time these attacks occur, a warning message will appear on the screen. Being hit of these will inflict Sustained damage icon1.png Sustained Damage and a stack of Trauma icon.png Trauma. Receiving 2 stacks of Trauma will immobilize the player for a few seconds with Concussion icon.png Concussion, which can be cleansed with Esuna.png  Esuna.
    • A tempestuous wind surrounds Valigarmanda... The boss begins circling the arena while wind gathers around it, indicating a donut AoE with the middle of the room safe.
    • Valigarmanda gathers its strength... The boss hovers its claws above the arena indicating a large point-blank AoE with the safe region out of melee range.
    • Blinding energies build within Valigarmanda's wide-open beak... The boss opens its mouth, gathering energy, indicating a wide conal AoE with the safe spots in the top corners.
  • Ice Talon: Telegraphed AoE tankbusters targeting both tanks. Inflicts Frostbite icon2.png frostbite for 15s.
  • Skyruin: Party-wide magical damage and transitions the arena to begin a fire, ice or thunder mini-phase. Will also inflict Burns icon1.png burns, Frostbite icon2.png frostbite, or Electrocution icon1.png electrocution damage-over-time for 12s.
  • Disaster Zone: Used at the end of an elemental phase, dealing party-wide magical damage and returning the arena to its original state.
  • Ruinfall: Only used when the arena is in its original state. Spawns a dual tankbuster tower in the middle, a telegraphed knockback from the north, and circle AoE telegraphs at the south.
    • The tanks will need to soak this tower with mitigation, then move north and avoid being knocked back into an AoE.
    • The rest of the party will deal with the knockback while avoiding the tower and AoEs.
    • The knockback can be prevented with knockback immune actions.

Thunder phase

The arena will become a 4x3 grid of tiles. The four corner tiles and two middle tiles will glow, causing any player who stands in them to receive Levitation icon.png Levitation.

  • Thunderous Breath: An AoE that covers the entire arena. Can only be dodged by standing in a levitation tile.
  • Hail of Feathers: Drops 4 feathers on the arena, each one dealing party-wide magical damage.
  • Blighted Bolt: Bolts of lightning fall upon the battlefield... Each player standing on a levitation tile will be hit with a small AoE. This can be avoided by leaving the tiles. Meanwhile, the feathers will each explode in a late telegraphed point-blank AoE.
  • Valigarmanda summons arcane circles of thunder... Summons five untargetable Arcane Sphere adds, each of which will use a late telegraphed line AoE (Arcane Lightning), leaving a safe gap.

Ice phase

The arena will become snowy.

  • A rumbling avalanche approaches from the southeast/southwest... Spawns blue arrow telegraphs in the corresponding direction, indicating a late telegraphed avalanche AoE that will hit that part of the arena and knock back anyone hit.
  • Freezing Dust: Gives players a 2 second File:Freezing dust icon.png Freezing Up. Players need to keep moving until the debuff expires or they will be immobilized with Deep Freeze icon1.png Deep Freeze.
