Botanist's Guild

Lore

"The botanist's profession encompasses the procurement of resources from all forms of plant life. This includes harvesting vegetables and grains, tending fruit-bearing trees, cultivating fibrous plants, logging timber, and more.
Botanists also endeavor to educate others about the need to maintain a symbiotic relationship with Eorzea's plants, rather than carelessly stripping them of their useful parts. Owing to their intimacy with nature, botanists are known to revere Nophica, the goddess of abundance." — Game Description

General Information

Botanist is a Disciple of the Land (gathering class) that harvests resources from flora and fauna throughout Eorzea. The materials they collect are desired by various crafting classes, including Carpenters, Weavers, Culinarians, and Alchemists.

There are two types of gathering nodes that botanists can interact with: Mature Trees (yellow icon on the minimap) via logging with a main-hand tool (hatchet), and Lush Vegetation Patches (blue icon on the minimap) via harvesting with an off-hand tool (scythe).

Any player with at least one level 10 Disciple of War or Magic is eligible to become a Botanist. To begin, head to the Botanist Guild located in Gridania and speak with the receptionist to start your first quest.
