“Sharlayan scriptomancers were the first to discover that the very wells and horns they used to store enchanted ink were being slowly altered by the receptacles' contents. The ink, applied to items to increase their aetherial conductivity, was increasing the horns' receptivity to magicks, and when one was accidentally bombarded with stray aether released from the selfsame spell which created Skatene, the first enchanted inkhorn was born.
