Game Master

Game Masters are the official judges of FINAL FANTASY XIV. They are tasked with ensuring a safe and fair playing environment for all of its inhabitants by enforcing the FINAL FANTASY XIV User Agreement. They are official employees of Square Enix and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They may be summoned via the Contact Us tab in the Support Desk menu, but will generally not appear in-game to avoid disturbing players.

Game Masters are separated by server region. Square Enix has multiple offices worldwide in Tokyo, Los Angeles, and London, where GMs oversee their respective regions. They are required to be proficient in English and at least one additional language to ensure that they are able to communicate with the largest number of players.

Game Masters may be identified by the following characteristics:

• The [GM] prefixed to their name in the chat log (which is always the same first name of Gm)
• Their distinctive Judge's Gear attire that gives off a distorting glow.
• The unique GM icon next to their nameplate.

GMs have demonstrated the following capabilities:

• Complete invisibility.
• Teleportation to any point in the game.
• Ability to send players to or release players from Mordion Gaol .
• Ability to use boss/enemy/NPC skills (in the case of Event GMs).

The class or job of a GM is not disclosed in-game, though they have been known to appear with a Gladiator's spatha.
