Honoroit is more than a little concerned for Lord Emmanellain's well-being.

— In-game description

Steps

  • Speak with Cid.

Journal

  • Worried that something may have happened to Lord Emmanellain, Honoroit asks you to help him search Voor Sian Siran for his master. Return to the floating lakes and look for any sign of the young lord.
  • You survey the surrounding area for a time, but see no sign of Emmanellain. Rendezvous with Honoroit and see if he has had better luck.
  • Flustered and breathless, his eyes wide with terror, Honoroit screams that Lord Emmanellain has been captured by the Vanu Vanu. Follow the manservant and find out what has become of his lord.
  • It quickly becomes clear that Lord Emmanellain has been taken to a nearby Vanu stronghold. Fearing the worst, Honoroit begs you to rescue his master before departing for Camp Cloudtop to seek help. Under cover of darkness, you attempt to free the young lord, and succeed with the aid of Haurchefant, who arrives in the nick of time with a party of knights. However, the Vanu are too numerous, and you soon find yourselves surrounded with no means of escape.
  • The chieftain of the Vanu then cries out to the heavens, and a gargantuan flying whale appears to answer his call. Bismarck, Lord of the Mists, the chieftain names it, and Haurchefant realizes with horror that the creature is a primal. Fortunately, before the monster can swallow you whole, Cid Garlond swoops down aboard the Enterprise and spirits you away.
  • It would seem that Cid's perfectly timed rescue was a product of happy coincidence, as he had come to Camp Cloudtop to inspect the Protector. So it was that he happened to be present when Honoroit returned from Voor Sian Siran, begging for assistance. Having ensured your safety, he confirms his intent to return to his work on the Ishgardian airship, but promises that you will speak again soon.

Dialogue

Accepting the Quest

Honoroit: Lord Emmanellain has been gone for an awfully long time. Did you perchance see him while you were searching for your crystal? Even he must realize the dangers of wandering too far in such a place...
Honoroit: Mayhap I am worrying about nothing, but...I must ask that you assist me in looking for him, Mistress/Master [Surname]. We shall find him more quickly if we split up. Pray search the southeastern area of Voor Sian Siran as swiftly as you are able and rendezvous with me in the north. Farewell, and good luck.

Searching for Emmanellain in Voor Sian Siran

System: You survey the surrounding area for a time, but see no sign of Emmanellain.

Rendezvousing with Honoroit (Cutscene)

Honoroit: >> M-Mistress/M-Master [Surname]! Lord Emmanellain...Lord Emmanellain has been taken by the Vanu! <<
Honoroit: >> They had my lord surrounded─a whole gang of them! Please, you must come quickly! <<

Speaking with Honoroit (Cutscene)

Honoroit: The Vanu must have taken him to that village, mayhap to present to their chieftain...
Honoroit: I-I will make haste to the Rosehouse and tell Lady Laniaitte what has happened.
Honoroit: Yet... Yet by the time I return with aid, i-it may already be too late... Forgive me for asking, Mistress/Master [Surname], but should you spy an opportunity to sneak past the sentries and rescue Lord Emmanellain in my absence, I beg you to take it!
Honoroit: I know he can be a trifle presumptuous...and insensitive...and, well...insufferable─but he doesn't deserve this!

Solo Duty Dialogue

Emmanellain the Lofty: By the Fury, you're...you're not going to eat me, are you? That's not what you do to prisoners, is it!?
Emmanellain the Lofty: [Forename]! [Forename]! I'm over here!
Chief Honu Vanu: Netherlings come to free prisoner! Spread word like thunder, and cast them into cloud sea!
Chief Honu Vanu: Netherlings slink away like guileful gaelicats! Rally, warriors of Gundu! Let none escape!
Haurchefant of the Silver Fuller: Help has arrived, [Forename]!
Emmanellain the Lofty: Haurchefant, is that you!? Thank heavens! Get us out of here!
Haurchefant of the Silver Fuller: Keep Emmanellain safe, [Forename]! We will hold them off!

Post-duty Cutscene

Haurchefant: Reinforcements!?
Chief Honu Vanu: Anger of Honu, chief of mighty Vundu, roils like blackest storm clouds!
Chief Honu Vanu: Offer netherlings to the White! Cloud sea swells and He comes!
Chief Honu Vanu: >> The White! The White! Mighty Bismarck, Lord of the Mists! <<
Haurchefant: A flying whale!? By the Fury, i-it's a primal!
Haurchefant: We must away!
Haurchefant: Damn!
Cid: Bloody typical... All right─we're going in!
Biggs and Wedge: Aye aye, chief!
Cid: >> All aboard! <<

Optional Dialogue

Haurchefont: We are all of us still alive, my friend! Let us take solace in that most simple of blessings.
Emmanellain: ...Frightened? Me!? For a fleeting moment at most! Hah hah...hah...

Speaking with Cid (Cutscene)

Cid: The gods only know what might've happened had we not been around to save you... No need for thanks, though. It's not as if you haven't done the same for us on a few previous occasions. All right, more than a few.
Cid: 'Twas but blind chance that brought us together this time, in case you were wondering. The Holy See has petitioned the Ironworks for assistance with this creation of theirs, the Protector. Apparently, they just can't seem to get her flying.
Cid: Anyway, I came to Camp Cloudtop to cast an eye over the ship, only to learn that you had arrived some few days before with an Ishgardian lordling in tow. Cid: "Small world!“ I thought─just as said lordling's manservant skittered into view, babbling about his master having been captured and you risking all to rescue him. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Cid: Right, well, I hate to cut short our reunion, but I am here on business after all, and the boys are already hard at work. Don't worry, old friend─we'll speak again soon, I promise.
