“"Your Excellency, may I present our honored visitors."
Appearing as an Auri boy of twelve, Varshahn presented himself as the satrap's attendant for almost two years—a fiction maintained through various invented details, such as being poor at swimming. In truth, the youth is a simulacrum controlled by the dragon eye embedded in its torso, providing Vrtra an unobtrusive vessel with which to traverse the city. Its realistic form was fashioned in secret by the alchemists of the High Crucible, and is but one of many such creations. Previous attendants have been young and old, male and female, and were often sent abroad as permanent envoys to allow the dragon to assume new identities. With Varshahn's true nature revealed, the people are now realizing that certain acquaintances they made in the past were actually with the great wyrm himself.
