Kisei was a priestess of Sui-no-Sato who claimed to have the power to commune with the dead. Banished by the Ruby Princess, the Auri woman settled in Isari, where she wed a fisherman and bore him a boy. When her son was conscripted during the occupation, she and her daughter-in-law Minato leaned upon one another, but the latter's grief over her husband twisted her into a blasphemy in the wake of Doma's liberation. To her dying breath, the fifty-one-year-old believed that Minato had been chosen to serve as a vessel for the deity Izanami.
