"Ever has man coveted knowledge, and none more so than that of his fate. Thus did he labor to master the skill of foresight—but initial efforts bore little fruit. That is, until he looked to the stars above, which foretell the coming seasons, and learned to read the heavens.
Though this gift is known today as astrology, the people of Sharlayan saw fit to not only read the stars, but to write their movements as well. By attuning their aetherial energies to that of constellations, they learned to wield magicks with heretofore unseen properties.
Thus was astromancy born—a new form of magick which grants its users power over fate. Employing a star globe and divining deck in their miraculous deeds, fortune always smiles upon these masters of arcana." — Game Description
Astrologian is a healer job introduced in 2014 Fan Fest in Tokyo. Astrologian's main weapon is the Star Globe. The job starts from level 30, will not require a base class and will be released in Heavensward. It employs the use of celestial magicks along with a divining deck in order to heal and support their parties.

Astrologian has 2 stances. She can switch between pure healer stance and barrier stance. The spells' effects change depend on the stance. Currently the name of the stances are Tsukiyomi (moon reader) and Hoshiyomi (star reader). Example of this is that you might use the healer stance if your raid has a Scholar and use barrier stance if your raid has a White Mage.

Astrologian draws cards randomly to buff her party. She can choose to use the card immediately, or hold on to it and combine it with the next card.

Details of some of Astrologian's abilities were announced during the Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XXI:

There are two stances, Diurnal Sect and Nocturnal Sect, which you can switch between. One of them is simply a healing stance much like white mage, while the other uses barriers much like scholar.

Depending on which stance you are in the effects of each ability and spell will largely vary, so first it would be best to get used to one stance and then try and master the next.

Additionally, you’ll be able to use actions such as the barrier created by Y’shtola in the main scenario and you can draw cards which will give various types of buffs.

Depending on the card that you randomly draw, you can gain effects such as enhanced attack power, haste, and also damage reduction. Furthermore, you can use the ability Royal Road to return the card you draw to your deck and enhance the next one you draw. There is also an ability to set aside a good card you drew and an ability known as Shuffle to redraw a card. It’s a really fun job where you will have to consider how to use your cards depending on the situation and the card you draw.
