Island Pasture
The Pasture is a feature added with the Island Sanctuary in Patch 6.2 where the player can raise and keep animals caught on the island in return for otherwise unobtainable items. The animals have mood and feed gauges that can be raised for different item rewards.
Pasture Upgrades and Unlock Condition
The Pasture is unlocked by following the Island Sanctuary tutorial questline.
It can be upgraded to increase the maximum number of animals the player can keep. Upgrades cost 
Seafarer's Cowries and take time to complete (Earth hours).

Caretaking Services
Caretaking Services are unlocked along with the last upgrade. For a daily fee of 10 Seafarer's Cowries per animal, a Caretaker can be hired to take care of the pasture animals. The fee is deducted by the daily reset at 1 a.m. (PDT).
How to Use Caretaking Services
After the pasture has been upgraded to the third level, a tool to unlock Caretaking Services will be added to the crafting log. Once the tool has been crafted, talking to the Creature Comforter about the caretaking services will unlock the feature.
The Caretaker can keep a maximum of 20 leavings and the player will have to talk to it to get the items, they won't automatically be added to the island inventory.
How to start using the services:
- Open Pasture Management through the "Review status" dialogue option
- Select an animal (right-click on PC)
- Choose Entrust to Caretaker
- Select Feed and confirm
How to stop using the services:
- Select the animal in Pasture Management
- Choose Dismiss Caretaker

Restraints and Item Drops
Once per day at 1 a.m. (PDT), Leavings can be collected from animals in the pasture using the Gather mode. It's possible to get two items from one animal.

Most, or possibly all, animals that can be caught on the island have a rare version that spawns at specific locations during certain time or weather conditions.
