The helldiver was developed as a successor to sky armor during the second phase of new research intended to improve upon existing airborne magitek. Numerous compromises were made in its design due to the deteriorating situation at the warfront and immediate demand for combat-ready machinery. Initial plans to implement transformation capabilities were scrapped, although engineers did succeed in enhancing its firepower and hardiness compared to the previous model.  +
The ranks of the imperial army have long been bolstered with conscripted troops from the provinces to compensate for the small population of trueborn Garleans, but such a practice means facing the constant risk of rebellion. Magitek infantry were developed in response to the demand amongst Garlean officers for soldiers of unwavering loyalty.  +
Unlike magitek armor, which was developed as an alternative to mounted cavalry, the nimrod was created by the Garlean Empire to serve as an unmanned mobile cannon. Its agility and firepower are inferior to those of the various magitek armor models, but it can still present a significant threat when deployed in large numbers.  +
Yet another unmanned weapon, this machina is used primarily for aerial surveillance and reconnaissance. When it detects a presence, it will check it against a database of known friendly entities, and, if no match is found, rain Garlean Fire upon the earth. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to hear of accidental casualties caused by outdated databases.  +
Though this creature was first discovered in the ruins of the Ridorana Lighthouse, a IVth Legion Zealot was warped by auracite into something of uncanny similarity upon the plateaus of Zadnor.  +
This former Zealot of the IVth Legion was reborn by the power of auracite in the likeless of Cuchulainn, the Impure of Ivalician legend. While he shares his name with a renowned voidsent, this is believed to be no more than coincidence.  +

Though Famfrit was originally a menace only to those exploring the Ridorana Lighthouse, the IVth Legion onmyoji Yamatsumi transformed into a nearly identical creature after succumbing to the influence of auracite. Such fragments transform their bearer into a form which aligns with their heart's most earnest desire, so it stands to reason that those with the same wish may be changed in a similar fashion—yet the question remains as how two identical desires would manifest in two different people. One theory suggests that Gilbrisbert the Puppetmaster fabricated a particular desire in Yamatsumi's mind before presenting the onmyoji with auracite to serve his own twisted ends.  +
This hulking abomination was first seen stalking the ruins of Rabanastre. A IVth Legion Zealot upon the plateaus of Zadnor also managed transformation into Hashmal, harnessing the power of an auracite relic.  +
A IVth Legion Zealot transformed by the power of auracite into a twisted monstrosity resembling Shemhazai, the Whisperer of Ivalician legend. She is believed to hold sway over the spirits of the netherworld.  +

The Crystalline Mean is the backbone of the Crystarium. It is essential to its continued prosperity, but that also means we must accept every request that comes our way, no matter how trivial. Sometimes our crafters need a little boost to help them go that extra malm, and as our work is constant, the demand for such a concoction is as well.  +
Their large bodies and relatively bright coloring make erucas easy targets for hungry predators large enough not to become prey themselves. There lives, however, one worm so full of vim and vigor that it has eluded capture for five whole summers, allowing it to swell to its current gargantuan girth. It should be noted that vim and vigor came from consuming the local citizenry.  +

You return, yes, yes, you do. You would have words with Ba Go and his beauties?  +
The 789th is known for sloth and sluggardy, yes. But Bo Gu is different—unique, distinctive, different. The others are incapable of work. Bo Gu could work, but chooses not to. See? Not the same. No, no, not at all.  +
The 789th Order are the most hapless of kobolds, who their kin have all but exiled. Working at the 789th Order Dig adds insult to injury, as the site lies in the middle of nowhere and is thought to hold not one vein of good ore.  +
Lazy? I resent that remark—object, reject, resent. Bo Bu simply believes that the measure of a kobold is not the number of shin yrocks in his pocket, but in his courage. Yes, courage and conviction! Y-You don't think Zo Ga heard me just now, do you? No, no? Phew...  +
Got any grub—feed, fare, grub? Thinking up good excuses to shirk my duties is hard work, yes, and hard work makes Bo Zu a hungry kobold.  +
Have you noticed, overdweller? Changes have come to the 789th Order Dig—transformations, alterations, changes! Yes, yes, many changes at the dig. Firstly, nap time has been cut from four hours to three. Secondly, all pickmen must at least ''think'' about picking up their pickaxe once a day. Thirdly... <yawn> Ah but Gi Gu must see to important business. Overdweller will return in three hours, yes?  +
