Talk:Miqo'te

There's been speculations on where the Miqo'te race originated from. One thing the Miqo'te do remember is that they were once persecuted and then enslaved by the Allagan Empire but prior to this there's little knowledge. There is the text indicating that Sesame Seeds were thought to have been introduced to Eorzea from Meracydia by the Miqo'te, but this doesn't give any hints to whether this was before or after the Allagan Empire era. Some ingame hints speculate they are descendants of the Mithra race from Vana'diel along with a quote from Nanaa Mihgo that eventually ended up in the hands of a Sharlayan inventor several millenia later. Since back in 2015 the SE development team strongly denied any ties between Eorzea and Vana'diel stating they were not the same world then the likely scenario is that at some point in the past members of the Mithra race arrived on Etheirys either through exploration or by accident and after several generations evolved into the Miqo'te race.
