History
"In the year 969 of the Sixth Astral Era, a dispute surrounding the succession of twin princes erupted into a internecine war-a conflict which ultimately fractured the Thanalan city-state of Belah'dia into the rival nations of Ul'dah and Sil'dah. Upon this bitter division, Ul'dah's first ruler, Sasagan Ul Sisigan, gathered to him those knights who had sworn him fealty, and established a retinue of bodyguards thenceforth known as the Sultansworn. For six hundred years now, generations of Sultansworn have taken the oath of their forebears, and honed their marital prowess I service to the royal house of Ul'dah. Centuries of training and tradition have led to the development of an indomitable style of combat that has many times proven instrumental in the salvation of the desert nation and it's people. General Information
Paladin, equipped with sword, shield and heavy armor, is one of the tanking jobs of ARR. Paladins have all the abilities and traits of Gladiators. The most important stat for the paladin is vitality, which increases HP. The level of your paladin is equivalent to that of your gladiator.

Oath Gauge is Paladin's Job Gauge.
Oath Gauge
Upon learning the action Iron Will (tank stance) at level 10, a symbol will appear on the screen indicating when it is in effect. Iron Will increases enmity gained from using other actions.
Upon learning the trait Oath Mastery, the symbol which indicates the use of Iron Will will change to also display the Oath Gauge.
Oath increases by 5 with every auto-attack: Auto-attack for Paladin occurs every 2.24 seconds. Every ability that uses Oath consumes 50 Oath, meaning that each of these abilities can be used once every 22.4 seconds.
Oath can be used on abilities Sheltron and its upgraded version Holy Sheltron, Intervention and Cover.
