Final Fantasy XIV is set on:

• Hydaelyn, the Source, or Etheirys, is the setting of most of the game.
• The First, one of the Shards (reflections) of Hydaelyn, is the setting of the Shadowbringers expansion.
• The Thirteenth or The Void, one of the Shards (reflections) of Hydaelyn, is the home of all Voidsent and a major part of the Post-Endwalker plotline.

There are or were eleven other Shards, but they have as of yet not been depicted. The English localization frequently uses an obsolete astrological meaning of the word "star" to refer to the planet the game is set on.
