Description

This enormous bivalved mollusk is easily recognizable by the unique wave pattern found on its outer shell. An old fisher's tale tells of a man who accidentally stepped in the mouth of one during low tide. Unable to move due to the shell's crushing force, the man eventually drowned when the tide came in.
