Sasawefu was one of the twins of the Sultan of Belah'dia. Following his father falling deathly ill, he and his brother divided up the city-states forces and waged civil war against each other. This warfare only grew more brutal following the death of their father. Sasawefu and his forces used Aetherytes to ambush King Sasagan I's forces, but were ultimately undone when the aetheryte was destroyed while their soldiers were escaping, leaving over eight hundred stranded in the Aetherial Sea.
After over four years of warfare, the city of Belah'dia fell, and was split into two sister city-states: Ul'dah led by Sasagan and Sil'dih led by Sasawefu. Though both siblings each had a city-state to rule, they still engaged in battle for supremacy over Thanalan, a battle that their children would inherit.
