Commander Osbern was the second in command to Vainchelon Whitewater. Following his death, Osbern was sent in. He quickly abandoned Vainchelon's defensive stance, leading the Gridanian forces in a headlong frontal assault against the Ala Mhigan forces. This proved to be a mistake, as the Gridanians were quickly dispatched after General Gylbarde learned of this assault and set up an ambush on the Finesand Banks.
