Tips and Tricks

  • Hydroball - an untelegraphed instant aoe attack that inflicts an uncleansable heavy on those hit. If inflicted with this heavy, staying near Funa Yurei makes Amorphous Applause much easier to dodge.
  • Amorphous Applause - a telegraphed semi-circle aoe that inflicts vulnerability up on those hit.
  • Sea Swallows All - a huge circular aoe that draws in anyone hit by it and does minor damage.

Trivia

  • (x16,y10) was discontinued as a spawn location a few months after Stormblood's release.

Description

A funa yurei is, loosely translated, a “ship ghost.” Pray do not misunderstand this to mean the ghost of a ship.
Said to be the lost souls of those who perished at sea, these vengeful spirits seek to sink other vessels by filling them with water. Using a ladle. One could conceive of more effective methods, but who can know the mind of a ghost?
Whatever its purpose, a funa yurei has been seen haunting the area. Folklore has is that a bottomless ladle acts as a ward against such apparitions. Mayhap you could test this theory?
