When you learn the action 
Shoha, the Meditation Gauge will be displayed, indicating the number of stacks of Meditation you have accumulated while in combat.
Stacks are acquired by executing 
Iaijutsu, 
Meditate, or 
Ogi Namikiri (acquired at level 90), and are expended after executing Shoha (acquired at level 80) when three stacks have been acquired.
