On the rare occasions the Raen priest allows himself a moment's respite-most certainly at his liege's insistence-he is said to play the flute. Though believed to be a virtuoso of the instrument, he admits no audience and none save his pet otter, Isobe, can attest to his skills. The princess's recent interest in the outside world has given Shiosai more cares with which to contend.
