Final Fantasy XIV is set on two planets:
- Hydaelyn, the Source, or Etheirys, is the setting of most of the game.
- The First, one of the Shards (reflections) of Hydaelyn, is the setting of the Shadowbringers expansion.
There are or were twelve other Shards, but they have as of yet not yet been depicted.
