“From the ruins of the Garlean imperial palace rises the Tower of Babil, a monstrous edifice constructed by Fandaniel and Zenos's enthralled hordes. While its exact purpose has yet to be ascertained, it is here that the would-be orchestrators of the Final Days await the Warrior of Light, who now spearheads a daring mission to infiltrate the tower and vanquish the Telophoroi once and for all.
— In-game description
The Tower of Babil is a level 83 dungeon introduced in patch 6.0 with Endwalker.
Objectives
Bosses
Barnabas
- Ground and Pound: Line AOE with a delayed marking that targets a random player
- Dynamic Pound: The boss moves to the North edge of the arena and an AOE splits the arena. It displays a Polarity (+/-) and players must move away if the have the opposite, or next to if they have the same.
- Shocking Force: Stack marker
- Dynamic Scrapline: Players are tethered to the boss and both they and the boss are marked with a Polarity (+/-). At the same time a point blank AOE shows up around the boss. Resolved like Dynamic Pound, same polarity stay close to the AOE, opposite move to the edge
This boss has Polarity (+/-) mechanics and Line AOEs.
Lugae
- Thermal Suppression: Party-wide AOE
- Magitek Missle: Places a few Circle AOEs on the arena.
- Magitek Ray: Line AOE
- Magitek Chakram: Summons Chakrams on the arena's perimeter. Step onto the Purple Plate to make yourself tiny which allows you to dodge the Chakrams.
- Magitek Explosion: Summons spike balls that do line aoes across the arena. There will be a safe space the player can run into to avoid the attack.
- Downpour: Applies a stacking debuff that will KO the player at 8 stacks. To prevent this step onto the Green Plate to turn into a frog.
Purple Plate: Makes the player tiny.
Green Plate: Makes the player a frog.
Eikon of Eikons: Anima
- Lunar Nail: Will cover 2 or 3 of the four quadrants of the arena in an aoe. Move toward the center so you can quickly switch to the safe quadrant when revealed. Any quadrant that doesn't have a purple nail on its outside corner is safe, even before the purple lines appear.
- Phantom Pain: Cast to execute the AoE from Lunar Nail.
- Mega Graviton: Unavoidable room-wide AOE
- Pater Patriae: Line AOE down the center of the room.
- Aetherial Pull: Every player will be Purple Tethered to a purple portal in a corner. Run away from that until your purple tether turns red. You'll be pulled back towards your portal. This is cast at the same time as Pater Patriae, which resolves first. You have enough time after Pater Patriae to get to a safe distance on your tether.
- Boundless Pain: Pulls you into the center and then summons an AOE Pillar. Run away to edge.
- Imperatum: Arena change. Pulls players to the arena's center. The floor will fall out and take the party to the Boss's dimension.
- Obliviating Claw.: Summons claws that will perform line AoEs from side-to-side across the platform.. A set will spawn on one side of the room with gaps in it, then on the other side. Once both have spawned, the first set will execute a line attack across the platform, then the second set will a few seconds later. Stand in a safe spot for the first set, then the second set.
- Erupting Pain: Two players will be marked with AoEs that chase them. Place them near the edge, then run away, and don't drag them over your allies.
- Oblivion: Continuous damage for a period, followed by players being pulled back into the original arena, where the fight resumes as it did in the first phase.
