Doman Reconstruction: Tsuranuki is a level 70 quasi-quest and a part of the Doman Reconstruction storyline. Specifically, this quest covers the restoration of the southern part of the Yard and occurs in conjunction with the quest "Doman Reconstruction: Araragi". There are no true steps to this quest, but donating more items continues the story and further improves the Yard.

The first part of the quest starts after players have donated items worth a total of 45,000 gil to the Donation Basket. After that, subsequent parts of the quest occur at 55,000 gil, 65,000 gil, 75,000 gil, 85,000 gil, and 100,000 gil.

Kozakura: On behalf of the Shazenkai, [Player], I thank you for your support.

Kozakura: Work on the Yard has begun in earnest, as you may have noticed. It will encompass a rather large section of the enclave, including the area directly behind me.

Kozakura: You see, after deliberation, the Shazenkai concluded that we would need to secure much more space for this plan to succeed -- far in excess of what we designated for the Ten Thousand Stalls.

Kozakura: This might not have been the case had we not decided to carry out two proposals that arguably at cross purposes... but so be it.

Kozakura: At the very least, I am told Master Tsuranuki is in high spirits. Perhaps you might consider calling on him and seeing the workers' progress?

Kozakura: Not that I wish to refuse you, [Player], but I think it might be better if you were to go and see Master Tsuranuki before I accept another donation.

Tsuranuki: Ah, there's the warrior! Heard you the good word? The Shazenkai has put their plans in motion. I will have my smithy once more!

Tsuranuki: Never dared I dream that this day would come. Doma burned, Lord Kaien died -- all because we were fools, and never again would I be a fool.

Tsuranuki: But then you and the boy, Isse, and the girl, Lyse, you spoke sense. Better to risk death as a fool than suffer a life without dreams...

Tsuranuki: Bah, what is this blubbering which consumes me! Enough -- let us speak of the work! That is what matters, aye!

Tsuranuki: The carpenters have claimed that site for their own. My blood may run with iron, but even I know Doma wants for lumber, so with wood we begin!

Tsuranuki: Blessed are we to live at the mouth of the One River, in such a humid clime. There are few teachers better than rot and rust, bwahahaha!

Tsuranuki: And here will be my smithy! A home for forge and anvil -- but not yet, not yet.

Tsuranuki: Much iron lies beneath Doma's soil, waiting to be claimed, waiting to be shaped.

Tsuranuki: All that we need, she provides. Water, wood, ore -- the materials are ours to command. To forge into tools for farmers, cooks. For all!

Tsuranuki: ...Or so it once was. Imperial robbers and sneakthieves stole much of our mineral wealth. For the Empire! Pah!

Tsuranuki: To other provinces they would send Doma's riches, and in return we received their refuse. Rusted pots. Broken plows!

Tsuranuki: A travesty it was, and still is! Still we rely on inferior tools forced upon us by conquerors -- but no longer! Doma knows what Doma needs, and she will make it with her own two hands!

Tsuranuki: To this end I will give everything. I swear! But I should like to see it before I die, and to that end, we will need your help! Bwahahaha!

Tsuranuki: Again we are graced by the warrior's presence, to whom we owe so much!

Tsuranuki: Look, look! Is it not a thing of beauty? Glorious and splendid?

Tsuranuki: Quick as a flash the carpenters work, putting my smiths to shame, but so be it! More time for them to finally use that which they have built!

Hozan: Master Tsuranuki! [Player]!

Tsuranuki: By the kami! What sorcery is this!?

Tsuranuki: The boy Hozan, here? But you were for the West, on Lady Yugiri's boat!

Hozan: To Eorzea's shores, aye. There we remained for some time, but we are returned at last, Master Tsuranuki -- all of us!

Kozakura: All of the refugees who left Revenant's Toll safely arrived not long ago. They are resting from their long journey at present, but you should see them out and about soon enough.

Kozakura: Thank you again for helping to secure their passage home. This day has been far too long in coming, and were it not for you, I fear we would still be waiting.

Hozan: I am told you have contributed much to the restoration of the enclave as well. Truly, my friend, your generosity knows no bounds.

Hozan: Once we have regained our strength, we too shall join in the reconstruction!

Tsuranuki: Much fire in the belly as always, boy, but you and yours need homes. Beds upon which to lay down and rest. I'll not see you sleeping in the streets!

Tsuranuki: Take what you need from our materials, Kozakura, and have housing built for our brothers and sisters! It must be done!

Kozakura: Y-Yes, of course! As you wish, Master Tsuranuki! I will consult with the Shazenkai and make the necessary arrangements.

Kozakura: Is it not wonderful, [Player], how our people care for one another?

System: Construction of the Yard is proceeding apace, and while resources have been diverted to provide housing for the returned refugees, all are in agreement that it is for the best.

Tsuranuki: Never mind the blades! I had the boy take them to be fitted for handles. Start on the cauldrons -- but leave the big one for me!

Kozakura: A maelstrom of chaos, and at the heart of it, Master Tsuranuki, I presume?

Araragi: Chaos indeed. Such a discordant racket of hammering and angry shouting as can be heard all the way down on the docks.

Tsuranuki: Bah! The chorus of hardworking men going about their business as they should! What of it? Come to complain about the noise, have you?

Araragi: ...Incorrigible. Utterly incorrigible. Even after I allowed resources to be diverted to your projects.

Tsuranuki: Bwahahaha! The greater need was ours! A bitter loser, you are!

Araragi: Such pride and passion -- is your competition so all-consuming?

Tsuranuki: My love for Doma is all-consuming! What we do, we do for her! A hundred pots, a thousand hammers -- tools we craft to put in our countrymen's hands!

Tsuranuki: Without the bucket to haul water or the hoe to till the soil, what is a field but dirt!? What is a man without the means to better his lot?

Araragi: ...Then forge for me a paper knife.

Araragi: A knife of surpassing sharpness which will pass through five hundred -- nay, a thousand sheets of paper cleanly in a single stroke.

Tsuranuki: Bwahahaha! Consider it done! You'll have your knife before your next batch of kozo has finished cooking!

Kozakura: I think... they may have come to an understanding?

Kozakura: In any event, we need only to finish the paper mill! I pray the Shazenkai can continue to count on you for support!
