  • Caterwaul is an unavoidable large AoE which takes advantage of the Vulnerability Up icon1.png Vulnerability Up stacks.
  • Brace gives Sphatika two out of the four buffs Forward Bearing, Backward Bearing, Leftward Bearing, and Rightward Bearing. These buffs determine where its Hind Whip attack strikes.
    • Note that when Sphatika has two bearing buffs, the buff that is ordered first on the buff bar will be used first.
  • Lickwhip Stance causes Sphatika to use Long Lick followed by Hind Whip.

Description

It goes without saying that pisaca are the apex predators of Thavnair. With their elongated, whip-like tongues, these scalekin abominations make prey of even men.
Worse yet, the pisaca has an additional weapon at its disposal─nigh-impenetrable scales partially composed of metal─that has garnered the interest of the Faculty of Engineering. You can imagine where this is going, but for the sake of thoroughness...
Our engineers have requested the scales of a particularly large pisaca for one of their projects. Though the creature was rather euphemistically named for quartz, “sphatika,” I fear that obtaining its hide will require courage of adamant.
Sphatika is known to mercilessly attack any rivals that would encroach upon its territory, and many a hunter has become the hunted in its domain. Perhaps these are merely rumors...but I suggest you don't count on it.

— Lubdahrm, Old Sharlayan Aetheryte Plaza, Old Sharlayan

Speaking of the strongest predators in Thavnair, it's definitely Pishacha, the demon of the scales. Even people are hunted with a long whip-like tongue.
And there is another big weapon in Pishacha. It has terrifyingly hard scales that contain metallic components ...
For some reason, the guys in our engineering department have paid attention to this. In particular, it is called "Spatika", which means "spatika" locally.
He defeated the big Pishacha and told him to bring back the scales. It seems that they intend to use it as a material for the machines they make.
But be careful. Spatika mercilessly attacks those who break the territory, it's a rumor that many hunters have been revenge ...

— Japanese Translation

If there is one predator in Thavnair that dominates the others, it is the pishacha. He sometimes even attacks humans with his extensible tongue ... A formidable being.
However, I draw your attention to its extremely rigid scales which make it almost invulnerable. They are probably made partly of metal. The engineering department is jealous of their mechanical property and would like to study them.
Our researchers will not be satisfied with the first specimen. They want a sample of scales from a huge pishacha which is called Sphatika or quartz, as they say there. Its breastplate would be of incomparable hardness and could constitute the ideal material to complete their machine.
Above all, take good care of yourself. Sphatika is territorial in demeanor and is ruthless with anyone who hunts on her domain. Many stalkers have already found themselves in his belly.

— French Translation

Pisacas are without a doubt the top predators of Thavnair. With their whip-like, stretched tongues, these misguided pangolins even make us their prey.
But the Pisacas also have another weapon at their disposal. We are talking about their barely penetrable scales, which probably consist partly of some kind of metal. This feature of them caught the attention and interest of the engineers of the Magic Academy.
You can imagine what I'm getting at. The engineers have asked for the scale of a particularly large pisaca to be procured. The scales of Sphatika - named after the word for "quartz" in the local language - are supposed to be used to build a machine.
Be careful though. Sphatika is known for ruthlessly attacking anyone who enters its territory, and many would-be hunters have become its prey that has never been seen or heard of again ...

— German Translation

Lore

Though best known for savagely preying on unsuspecting Thavnairians with aid of their whiplike tongues, pisaca also have the nightmarish advantage of nigh-impenetrable metalloid scales. Those of Sphatika, named rather euphemistically for quartz, are believed to be particularly robust, and thus it is little surprise that they have garnered the persistent interest of the Faculty of Engineering.
