===Accepting the Quest===
Loashkana: Oh...it's you, Forename.
Loashkana: You'll have to forgive the dour mood. I just...I don't understand it! How is it that Ellerete and Kokonowa can so grandiosely reveal their names and identities, yet I remain unable to track them down?
Loashkana: I've been following the latest hearsay, but I haven't had much luck. Not a soul's seen them since the incident with Wyssulm and Zerig.
Loashkana: But that's not to say I've given up entirely. Now that they know I'm on their trail, I suspect they're using my unfamiliarity with this island to their advantage. I daresay they're lying low outside the city.
Loashkana: That's why I propose a trip to the Moraby Drydocks. Folk here often speak of it, but I've yet to go there myself, so it seems as good a place as any. If you're game, I'll meet you there.
===Optional Dialogue===
High-strung Shipwright: Where in the hells could he have gone...?
===Speak with Loashkana at the Moraby Drydocks===
Loashkana: Ah! There you are, Forename. While I was waiting for you, this fellow came asking for help.
High-strung Shipwright: Sorry to trouble ye, but me little brother's gone missin', an' I could use a hand findin' him.
High-strung Shipwright: He said he wanted to see the ships I made, so I started showin' him around...but the next thing I knew, he was gone. Lad's probably got himself lost.
Loashkana: Oh, that poor dear... I know we still have the Heartsting to consider, but I'd like to search for this man's brother, if that's all right with you.
Loashkana: Much appreciated. I'm sure we'll find him all the faster with your help.
High-strung Shipwright: Ye have me thanks. Me brother wouldn't say boo to a goose, so I doubt he'd leave the docks on his own. He's got a mop o' red hair like mine, so ye'll know him when ye see him.
Loashkana: We'll keep an eye out! I know you're itching to search for him as well, but could I ask you to wait here in case he comes back?
Loashkana: Let's split up so we can cover more ground. Good luck!
===Optional Dialogue===
High-strung Shipwright: It ain't like me brother to wander off like that. With any luck, he won't have gone far.
===Search for the red-headed youth (cutscene)===
Red-headed Youth: <sniffle> <sob> I-I'm scared... Where are you?
Red-headed Youth: Huh...? You're here to take me back to my brother?
Loashkana: You found the little one, Forename! I'm so glad he's safe!
Red-headed Youth: I-I just wanted to see the ships my brother was workin' on... I thought I could see 'em better from higher up, but I lost my way...
Loashkana: It sounds like you've had quite the adventure!
Loashkana: But you were very brave today, so I'll tell you a secret: even grown-ups get lost! I have an awful time learning my way around somewhere new, even with a map.
Red-headed Youth: Really?
Red-headed Youth: I guess I'm not the only one!
Loashkana: A smile─we like to see those! Now, your brother's very worried about you, so can you promise me you won't go wandering off on your own again?
Red-headed Youth: I promise. I should say sorry to my brother, too.
Loashkana: Let's take him back, then.
===Optional Dialogue===
Red-headed Youth: Brother!
Loashkana: I was worrying myself sick over that little one... He could have fallen into the ocean, for all we know!
===Speak with the high-strung shipwright===
High-strung Shipwright: You're lifesavers, both o' ye! Ye deserve a proper reward, but...I ain't got much to offer at the moment.
Loashkana: Oh, we're in no need of coin! Just some information, if you have it.
Loashkana: Have you seen a Hyuran woman and a Lalafellin man around the docks in recent days? One is an alchemist, and the other a goldsmith. They'd likely have a few mammets with them as well.
Loashkana: If not, have you heard any rumors of food or drink that causes ailments when you consume them? Blindness or numbness, perhaps...?
High-strung Shipwright: Hm... 'Fraid I haven't seen or heard anything or anyone like that. Sorry I couldn't be o' more help to ye.
Loashkana: That's all right! Knowing they haven't been around the docks is equally helpful.
High-strung Shipwright: Well, that's good, at least. I'll be prayin' to the Navigator ye both find who yer lookin' for.
High-strung Shipwright: Anyroad, the two of us ought to be headin' home. Thanks again for everythin'─good fortune an' safe travels to ye both.
===Speak with Loashkana===
Loashkana: <sigh> Still no word of the Unbound. But at least we could help those brothers.
Loashkana: Children often let their curiosity guide them...which means they'll naturally wander off on their own adventures. I don't blame that man for worrying as much as he did.
What will you say? | |||
> You seem to know a lot about caring for children.
> Something tells me you speak from personal experience.
< You seem to know a lot about caring for children. >
Loashkana: After a fashion, yes! I always enjoyed looking after the village children in my spare time. I try to be a good role model for them...though the other adults tell me I shouldn't dote on them overmuch.
< Something tells me you speak from personal experience. >
Loashkana: I do, in fact! I'm the oldest sibling in my family─I can't tell you how many times I've had to search for my brothers and sisters when they were growing up.
Loashkana: Now that I think on it, I've barely even told you about my family, or my village, or...anything, really.
Loashkana: I'd be happy to share a few stories if you'd like. The ocean view here is beautiful, so we may as well enjoy the scenery and relax a bit.
===Cutscene=== | |||
Loashkana: My people hail from the northern valleys of Xak Tural. We're a close-knit community of hunters, for the most part.
Loashkana: Children are given spears─well, practice ones─before they even learn to walk, and we hone our tracking skills from a very young age.
Loashkana: Is it that surprising? It seemed second nature to me...but then again, I've encountered my fair share of surprises here as well.
Loashkana: Our village rests in a veritable sea of poisonous plants and animals, so the slightest injury on a hunt can prove deadly... Thus, we believe it prudent to begin our training as early as possible.
Loashkana: Yet no matter how skilled we might become, accidents are inevitable, and the Heartsting proves vital to our survival.
Loashkana: Not only does it produce poison, it cleanses it, as well. In the right hands, it can dispel some of the deadliest natural toxins known to mankind.
Loashkana: It even purifies the beasts we hunt. In fact, our diet consists of highly venomous creatures─ones that would normally kill a grown adult if ingested.
Loashkana: The Heartsting allows us to lead a quiet, peaceful life in lands where others dare not tread. It always has.
Loashkana: I suppose that's why I never imagined someone like Ellerete would take that away from us.
Loashkana: When I left, our village food stores were well stocked, but I can't bear the thought of my younger brothers and sisters going hungry. I must return the Heartsting as soon as I can...for their sakes.
Loashkana: I wish to bring back their smiles and make them feel safe again, just as we did for that young boy!
Loashkana: ...In any case, thank you for listening. Thinking of home puts me in good spirits! As long as I remember who and what I'm here for, I'll be all right. I know it.
Loashkana: But I've kept you long enough! I think it's time we made our way back to Limsa Lominsa, don't you?
===Rendezvous with Loashkana in Limsa Lominsa (cutscene)===
Loashkana: That was a much-needed reprieve, but we'll need to plan for our next destination, and soon...
Wyssulm: Well, now! Fancy meeting you here!
Loashkana: It's good to see you two again! What brings you to Limsa Lominsa?
Wyssulm: Nothing of import, really─just a bit of restocking before our next job, but we happened to spot you along the way. Didn't want to miss the opportunity to greet our heroes.
Wyssulm: Our client arrived to Swiftperch in one piece, thanks to your timely assistance.
Zerig: Indeed. While I regret that you had to see us in such a pitiable state, we're both grateful for your aid.
Zerig: When last we met, you spoke of pursuing those two charlatans, did you not?
Loashkana: Yes, that's right. They've stolen a precious heirloom from my village, so I'm doing everything in my power to return it to its rightful place.
Wyssulm: So that's the way of it... Bombastic as those two were, we've not seen hide nor hair of them in Aleport since. No word of any incidents like ours, either.
Wyssulm: But I've a feeling they won't stay in the shadows for long. If we sniff out any suspicious incidents while we're out and about, we'll keep you informed.
Loashkana: I won't say no to some extra pairs of eyes around the island! I've made my base of operations here in the city, so if you hear even a peep about a poisoning, you know where to find us.
Loashkana: Well...we may not have found any leads on Ellerete, but I'm glad we had a chance to chat. And with Wyssulm and Zerig on our side, things are looking up!
Loashkana: For now, I'll keep in touch with our newfound allies. Should I hear any news on our culprits, I'll be sure to let you know. |

Journal
- Loashkana is staring wistfully into the horizon.
- Despite a lack of new leads on the Heartsting, Loashkana's usual vigor returns to her as she formulates another plan of attack. She suggests the Unbound may be taking advantage of her unfamiliarity with Vylbrand, and thus she sets her sights on a new location: the Moraby Drydocks.
- A young shipwright stands anxiously at Loashkana's side, requesting your assistance in finding his lost brother. Though the task is a considerable detour in your plans, Loashkana is eager to tackle it all the same, and volunteers to find the shipwright's brother─a young boy sporting bright red hair.
- You find a tearful lad matching the shipwright's description. Loashkana is quick to comfort the young boy, and assures him that the two of you will return him to his older brother.
- The shipwright is overjoyed to see his brother safe and sound. Loashkana inquires as to whether he has heard aught of Ellerete or Kokonowa's misdeeds, but the man is unfamiliar with any such incidents. Ever the optimist, Loashkana is contented to know that the two criminals are nowhere to be found in the area, and makes the most of this reprieve to invite you to the docks for a friendly chat.
- Loashkana regales you with tales of her home in Xak Tural─a small village of hunters who thrive amongst venomous flora and fauna. She emphasizes the importance of the Heartsting to her people, and reaffirms her commitment to bringing it home. There is yet work to be done if she wishes to track down Ellerete and Kokonowa, however, and she bids you return to Limsa Lominsa for the time being, that you might discuss your next steps.
- Not long after your return to the maritime city-state, you are greeted by Wyssulm and Zerig, who happily pledge to aid Loashkana's cause. Delighted at the prospect of newfound allies, Loashkana promises to keep you abreast of the latest information as it comes to light.
- ※The next role quest will be available from Loashkana upon reaching level 96 in any healer class.
