Ceto's handmaidens─and only they─are as children to her, so it ought to come as no surprise that their murder would set her shaking, slashing, and spearing with rage. Other things one should avoid being surprised by include the reach and lethality of her assorted limbs.

— In-game description

Stone-cold Killer is an elemental level 59 FATE spawned in The Forbidden Land, Eureka Hydatos.

Guide

This encounter is more challenging than most notorious monster battles in Eureka due to having many mechanics that will cause instant death if not done correctly.

Ceto will immediately spawn three untargetable Lifeless Slave adds that will spread away from the boss. The adds are 90 degrees from each other, leaving one cardinal empty. These adds will periodically reposition, rotating 90 degrees in one direction. Their locations should be noted at all times.

  • Sickle Strike: light tankbuster
  • Petrifaction: Telegraphed gaze attack. Look away to avoid. Anyone hit will be inflicted with Petrification icon1.png Petrification, rendering them unable to move or take actions for several seconds, while greatly increasing damage taken.
  • The Lifeless Slave adds will begin glowing dark red and will each have a gaze indicator, indicating they will also cast Petrifaction at the same time. Look away from all three. The adds will reposition after their cast.
  • If anyone is petrified, the boss will move to them and cast Abyssal Reaper, a massive telegraphed point-blank AoE. Anyone who is petrified and is hit by this will instantly die.
  • A targetable Faithless Guard add will spawn. This add uses Circle of Flames, putting AoE telegraphs below random players, Tail Slap, a telegraphed conal AoE, and Circle Blade, a telegraphed point-blank AoE.
  • The Lifeless Slave adds will periodically continue to use Petrification, so look away from them when the gaze indicators spawn.
  • When Ceto uses Petrifaction if the Faithless Guard is alive, the add will begin glowing red and use Petrattraction shortly after, which will draw in all nearby players. Highly recommended to use Arm's Length.png  Arm's Length or Surecast.png  Surecast to prevent the draw-in effect. The Lifeless Slaves will use Petrifaction shortly after.

Tip: Pay attention to the cast bars in the enemy list to know when the adds are using Petrifaction or Petrattraction. This may be easier to see than the red auras.

Dialogue

Ceto: Take it! This power of mine...
Ceto: Now turn your gaze upon them! See the fools become as stone!
