Weapon progression

After reaching level 50, players should start their A Relic Reborn quest chain by talking to Nedrick Ironheart in Vesper Bay of Western Thanalan (x12,y14). The first quest in the chain is named The Weaponsmith of Legend. At the end of the quest chain players will acquire their item level 80 Zodiac Weapon that correspond to their jobs.

Players can upgrade their Zodiac Weapons into item level 90 Zenith Zodiac Weapons by using 3 Thavnairian Mist with the Zodiac Weapon at the furnace in Hyrstmill, North Shroud. Players can purchase the Thavnairian Mists from Auriana in Revenant's Toll, Mor Dhona (x22,y6). Each Thavnairian Mist cost 40 Allagan Tomestone of Poetics. Players will need 120 Poetics total.

Players can further upgrade their Zenith Zodiac Weapons into item level 100 with Up in Arms and Trial of the Braves, 110 Novus Zodiac Weapons with Celestial Radiance and Star Light, Star Bright, then 115 Nexus Zodiac Weapons with Mmmmmm, Soulglazed Relics.

Zodiac Weapons have two further stages of upgrades. Zodiac Braves Weapons require completing Wherefore Art Thou, Zodiac, A Ponze of Flesh, Labor of Love, Method in His Malice, A Treasured Mother, and His Dark Materia. Full costs are detailed here. The final upgrade to Zodiac Zeta Weapons requires completing Rise and Shine & The Vital Title, steps of which are detailed here

Players can obtain item level 95 weapons from The Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 5 and The Whorleater (Extreme). The weapons from The Whorleater (Extreme) can be upgraded to ilevel 100 with a Mirror of The Whorl.

Players could obtain ilevel 100 Weathered Weapons by trading 1 Unidentified Allagan Tomestone, obtained from The Second Coil of Bahamut - Turn 2, and Rowena's Token (Soldiery), obtained from purchasing it from Rowena with Soldiery Tomestones. Players could upgrade Weathered Weapons into their ilvl 110 versions using the Sands of Time. Sands of Time were dropped from The Second Coil of Bahamut - Turn 2 and The Second Coil of Bahamut - Turn 4.

Item level 100 weapons from The Striking Tree (Extreme).

Item level 110 weapons from Shiva (Extreme).

Item level 115 weapons are obtained from The Second Coil of Bahamut - Turn 4.

Item level 120 Ironworks Magitek Weapons purchased with Rowena's Token (Poetics) and Encrypted Tomestone.

Item level 130 Augmented Ironworks Magitek Weapons were upgraded from Carbontwine and Ironworks Magitek Weapons.

Armor progression

After reaching level 50, players should do The Labyrinth of the Ancients of the Crystal Tower for item level 80 armor and Allagan Tomestones of Soldiery. Players can exchange Soldiery Tomestones for item level 100 armor by talking to Auriana in Mor Dhona (x22,y6). Additionally, players can do speed runs of Brayflox's Longstop (Hard) for additional Soldiery tomestones, Allagan Tomestone of Poetics and item level 70 gear.

Players can obtain item level 90 gear from The Binding Coil of Bahamut Turns.

Item level 100 armor from Syrcus Tower.

Players can exchange Soldiery Tomestones for item level 100 Weathered Armor.

Players can obtain item level 110 gear from The Second Coil of Bahamut Turns and upgraded from Weathered Armor with Sands of Time.
