The Pasture is a feature added with the Island Sanctuary in Patch 6.2 where the player can raise and keep animals caught on the island in return for otherwise unobtainable items. The animals have mood and feed gauges that can be raised for different item rewards.
Pasture Upgrades and Unlock Condition
The Pasture is unlocked by following the Island Sanctuary tutorial questline.
It can be upgraded to increase the maximum number of animals the player can keep. Upgrades cost 
Seafarer's Cowries and take time to complete (Earth hours).

Restraints and Item Drops
Once per day at 1 a.m. (PDT), Leavings can be collected from animals in the pasture using the Gather mode. It's possible to get two items from one animal.
