Additional Information
From the Isle of Val near the Sharlayan homeland, Krile was raised in the orphanage of the famed Archon Galuf Baldesion, and took his surname and a Hyuran spelling for her forename in spire of her Plainsfolk heritage. She discovered she possessed the Echo at the age of twelve. In her, it manifested as a sensitivity to the whispers of the soul, and her adolescence was a dark time hounded by the thoughts of others. Troubled by his adoptive daughter's plight, Galuf directed his research organization, the Students of Baldesion, to study Krile's powers. At first the subject of experiments, Krile eventually joined the Students as a member, and came to terms with her powers. It was in this effort that she grew close to Minfilia.
Now twenty-two, the Studium graduate has become a respected expert in curative magicks that both heal and purge. Despite her status, Krile still enjoys poking fun at Alphinaud.
Cloak of Nine Lives: The large ears upon this cape are meant as symbols of the Echo. The garment itself was a present from Galuf, a token of his belief that powers such as Krile's are individual traits, and nothing to be feared. So meaningful was this message to Krile that she continues to wear a robe of the same design to this day.
Lore
Following the disappearance of Minfilia and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, Krile traveled to Eorzea to aid in the search to locate them. Using her Echo and the old Crystal of Light held by Matoya, she was able to track the residual Aether of Y'shtola's Flow spell to the Dravanian Forelands. There they were reunited with Thancred when he defended them from an attack by the Warriors of Darkness.

She and the Warrior of Light returned to various locations where She had intervened on behalf of them so she could trace her aether. She was then able to determine that Minfilia may be found in the Aetherial Sea. After learning that Minfilia had become the Word of the Mother, she posits that she may no longer be able to hold her own form due to Hydaelyn growing so weak. Though she mourned her "death", she wished to continue on to continue her mission.
Krile was present for the peace conference between Ishgard and the Dragons, and felt the pure wrath emanating from Nidhogg when he attacked and interrupted the conference. While the Ishgardians lept into action, she was frozen in place. She cursed herself for her fear. Y'shtola comforted her, saying that Matoya only meant to prepare her for the challenges that were ahead of them.
When The Warring Triad began to stir and Unukalhai sought out the help of the Warrior of Light and the Scions, Krile unlocked the restraints on the Triads holding cells, overcoming her fear. She also attempted to learn more from the youth, implying that she could read his mind, but only learned so much before Unulkalhai refused to share anything more.
When the Scions and the Eorzean Alliance ended up pulled into the war for Ala Mhigo, Krile was present at Rhalgr's Reach when Zenos yae Galvus and The Skulls attacked, and stabilized Y'shtola when Zenos attacked her. She traveled with her to make sure she survived when she was taken back to the Black Shroud to be healed, but was eventually captured and experimented on for her Echo, but was rescued later by the Warrior of Light and Lyse Hext. When the Scions were falling unconscious due to the summoning spell of the Crystal Exarch, Krile investigated them, realizing that their bodys were perfectly entact, however their souls were gone completely, leaving them as naught more than husks.
While the Warrior of Light was on The First, Krile took care of the bodies of the Scions, while also coordinating investigation efforts with Estinien Wyrmblood into Black Rose, the aetherochemical weapon being employed by the Empire under the influence of the Ascians. When the Warrior of Light returned, she urged them to hurry and figure out how to bring them back to The Source, as the connection between their bodies and souls were deteriorating, and they would soon perish.
When the Scions were returned to their bodies, Krile joined them in investigating the Telophoroi and fighting against Fandaniel when he attacked Paglth'an. After learning that he intended to recreate the Final Days, she headed to Sharlayan to attempt to gain information as well as secure a route for the Warrior of Light and the Scions to enter the city-state as members of the new Students of Baldesion.
Returning back to Sharlayan, Krile took the Scions to the Baldesion Annex, coordinating their efforts for researching the Final Days while also sending some of the Scions to Thavnair to speak with the Alchemists of Radz-at-Han, who had found a method to counteract the tempering effects of the towers that had appeared thanks to Fandaniel. While they were visiting Labrynthos, Hydaelyn spoke to the Warrior of Light using Krile as a vessel, and presented them with a flower named Elpis, that responded to the emotions of those around it.
After the two parties reconvened, Krile joined the party to the Tower of Zot, and aided in curing the Tempered after the tower was destroyed. When the Warrior of Light and the Scions headed to Garlemald with the Eorzean Alliance, she stayed behind to continue her research with Tataru, but ended up acting as the vessel for Hydaelyn once again, taken to the top of the Tower of Babil just in time to stop the seal on Zodiark from breaking. She collapsed soon after, and was taken back to Sharlayan to recover.
When the Final Days fell upon the world, Krile directed the efforts of each team handling the various places that the Blasphemies were appearing and attacking. When The Forum wanted to make use of the Tower of Babil and the teleporter at the top to take those who wished to escape the planet to the ship built by the Loporrits, she aided in helping the refugees reach the tower and coordinate the evacuation efforts.
When the Scions sought to speak to Hydaelyn, Krile guided them through he Aitiascope into the aetherial sea until she lost contact with them when they went too deep. She also reached out to Erenville to gather allies to help bring supplies for those who were leaving the planet, as well as those who could help modify the Ragnarok so it could travel to the edge of creation, Ultima Thule.
When the Scions and the Warrior of Light left to find Meteion, she waited behind in Sharlayan. When Zenos appeared looking for the Warrior of Light, Krile agreed to allow him to consume the Mothercrystal to transform into Shinryu once again in exchange for him helping to defeat Meteion. When the Ragnarok returned, she apologized for allowing Zenos to follow them, but the Scions forgave her, understanding that the situation was difficult, and they actually benefited from her decision.
When the Scions "disbanded", she returned to Sharlayan to continue rebuilding the Students of Baldesion with G'raha Tia.
Trivia
Krile Baldesion uses a Hyuran name in the English localization as a reference to her namesake from Final Fantasy V, Krile Mayer Baldesion. The Japanese name of both incarnations of the character is "Kururu," a name which fits Plainsfolk naming conventions in Final Fantasy XIV.
