Strategy
The boss will cast one of three spells in regular intervals throughout the fight. The effect of these spells will vary based on whether or not his casting arm is tethered to the void orb on the outside of the platform, which will emit a lot of black energy. The three spells are as follows
Ability | Normal | Void |
---|---|---|
Blizzard | AoE Circles around Arena. Will hit when cast is finished. Easy enough to avoid. | At 75% of the cast bar start moving, and keep moving until you see yourself take damage. If you're standing still when the damage hits you'll get frozen for 8 seconds (+vuln up maybe?) |
Thunder | Heavy hitting Tankbuster. Will also apply lightning resistance down. Be sure to use damage reduction CDs and tank swap at 2 stacks | A massive AOE attack centered on the boss that stuns and gives 3 seconds of paralysis + vuln up for 40 seconds |
Fire | Marks up several players who will detonate for AOE damage around them. Spread as appropriate | Places Pyretic on everyone. Using /any/ actions while you have this will hurt. |
He will also cast the following spells throughout the fight
Doom: At the start of the fight he puts DOOM on two targets. one of the healers must have esuna for this.
Vacuum wave: This knocks you back a considerable distance. Later on in the fight the arena walls will be destroyed and this can knock you off the arena to your death.
Holy: usually the follow-up to vacuum wave. Stack behind the boss to share damage
Flare: 3 players will get marked. This marker will have 3 arrows. Run in the direction of one of your arrows to the edge of the arena. Once the Flare cast finishes three flare beams will emit from these 3 arrows. They will deal 10k damage to anyone in line with them.
The Decisive Battle: This will be cast at 66% and 33% health. He will disappear and a AoE distance damage marker will appear in the center of the arena. Run to the edge of the arena to reduce damage. Once the meteor hits a giant head will appear in the center facing a specific direction, and the arena walls will be destroyed. The head will be facing a certain direction, you need to run around to it's rear (Don't run through it as the area will cause a bleed on you to avoid the frontal cone AoE which inflicts a zombie debuff and will cause you to attack teammates. The next decisive battle at 33% will also spawn tentacles and there will only be a single safe spot to to avoid them. Everyone will then need to get into the safe spot and then run around the giant face..
Black Holes: After the first Decisive Battle Exdeath will now cast black holes. These will appear around the arena and cause damage if you stand in them, just dont stand in them.

And so you come to the final encounter in the Deltascape.
Awaiting you is yet another villain from a work of fiction known as Exdeath, who is described as an evil tree that assumes the form of a dark mage.
Doubt not but that this will be your toughest test yet, but overcome it you must if you are to head off Omega's threat.
