Spawn Conditions

Trigger

Each time a Rank S dies in Dawntrail areas, it has a chance to spawn four Crystal Incarnation throughout the zone. Once four of them are killed, Arch Aethereater will spawn.

If they spawn, the game will announce: "The minions of an extraordinarily powerful mark are on the hunt for prey."

They will withdraw exactly 5 minutes after this message if not engaged, or if disengaged by dying.

When all of them are killed, Arch Aethereater will spawn.

Time

Arch Aethereater has no respawn timer. It is randomly decided by the server upon each Dawntrail Rank S death whether it will spawn minions or not. Because of this, if the spawning fails because a minion withdraws it has no effect on any timers. It could theoretically spawn minions after every single Rank S death in Dawntrail in a row if the game decided to randomly do that.

Tips and Tricks

When it spawns, the game will announce "You sense the presence of a powerful mark..."

  • Fire IV is a circle AoE applying a Vulnerability Up icon1.png Vulnerability Up.
  • Blizzard IV is a donut AoE applying a Vulnerability Up icon1.png Vulnerability Up.
  • Aethermodynamics applies Cold Sweats or Heatstroke to different players 18 seconds.
    • Cold Sweats applies Deep Freeze icon1.png Deep Freeze after 18 seconds, preventing movement, so position yourself for the next Soulless Stream mechanic in advance.
    • Heatstroke applies Pyretic icon1.png Pyretic after 18 seconds, so position yourself for the next Soulless Stream mechanic in advance and stop everything or be prepared to take heavy damage while moving.
  • Soulless Stream is a half-circle cleave of the area telegraphed by a hand being held in the direction collecting power.
    • Followed up with Fire IV if it collected fire power.
    • Followed up with Blizzard IV if it collected ice power.
  • Obliterate is a telegraphed stack marker on a random target.
  • Meltdown is a long column AoE at a random target. Move away from where it's facing. Repeats this a lot.

Description

It always fascinates me how peoples and cultures can evolve in isolation from each other, and yet share such similar legends.
Take the Turali, for instance. When they appeared here in Alexandria thirty years ago, our cultures could not be any more different, any more separated, and yet even they told tales that sounded oddly familiar to an Alexandrian ear.
For instance, we both have a legend where crystalline creatures appear on the fields of war after battle, to feed on all the energies released in the fighting.
And the bigger the battle─the more energy expended and life force liberated─the more terrible the titan that appears to feed. Perhaps the tales were intended as warnings against war: that nature will always punish those who wage it, no matter how powerful they might be.
Or perhaps they are simple statements of fact: that here, as in Tural, massive disturbances in the aether are wont to awaken something inside the earth. If crystalline beasts start to appear during a particularly strenuous hunt, don't be surprised if their master isn't far behind!
