Lore

"We have always taken pride in our ability to sustain ourselves—not just to endure, but to thrive!"

Like many others in the glittering city, the elven director of the Crystalline Mean has suffered her fair share of tragedy. Her husband, a member of a merchant caravan, was killed by monstrous wildlife during a cargo delivery. Her young daughter, a naturally frail girl, was taken by an inexplicable fever despite the best efforts of the infirmary. Could her husband have survived if his armor were sturdier? Could her daughter have been saved if better medicine were available? Driven by these questions, Katliss threw herself body and soul into her work at the Mean. Now thirty-nine years of age, she is thankful for that which prevented her headlong descent into despair-the understanding of colleagues like Lorathia; the of her late husband's friend Cassard; and, perhaps more than support anything, the Crystarium's own spirit of enduring resilience.
