[[Silence]] is a [[status effect]] which disables all spell abilities for the duration, interrupting any spell cast in progress when it is applied. Other abilities such as [[weaponskills]] are not affected.

Note that silence was removed in [[shadowbringers]] (5.0) and replaced by [[interrupt]].
All player actions that caused Silence were changed [[Shadowbringers]] (5.0) to no longer cause the status. For the effect that replaced the players' use of Silence, see ''[[Interrupt]]''.

Silence icon1.png Silence is a detrimental status effect which prevents the use of Spells. Pacification and Amnesia are equivalents that disable the use of Weaponskills and Abilities, respectively.

All player actions that caused Silence were changed Shadowbringers (5.0) to no longer cause the status. For the effect that replaced the players' use of Silence, see Interrupt.
