Owing to its lack of an ilvl sync, enemies' health can be downed quickly and thus not all mechanics listed below may be experienced. Initially, the Mooglesguard must be defeated before the boss, Good King Moggle Mog XII, appears. Each of the moogles has a class/job and name to tell them apart:

*Players can start the questline by talking to Vorsaile Heuloix at New Gridania (x9,y11).
*Whiskerwall Kupdi Koop - Paladin
*Woolywart Kupqu Kogi - Archer
*Pukla Puki the Pomburner - Black Mage
*Pukna Pako the Tailturner - Rogue
*Furryfoot Kupli Kipp - White Mage (uses BLU Blue Mage spell Pom Cure)
*Ruffletuft Kupta Kapa - Warrior
*Puksi Piko the Shaggysong - Bard

Strategy
There are 2 phases and a kill priority for all of the moogles which is the same in both phases. The priority is BLM > WHM > BRD > THF (Thief) > RNG (Ranger) > PLD > WAR > King. (This is simply the way I've always done it. I'm not sure if you can kill the King before any of the other ones, or what happens if you do. If you can, and nothing bad happens, kill King before WAR). You want to put King towards the end because the King spell Momento Moogle/Mori will do partywide damage based on how many of the minions are alive at the time.
If you mark moogles in phase 1, the marks will stay on them in phase 2. So have someone mark them BLM(1), WHM(2), BRD(3), THF(4), RNG(5), PLD(X1), WAR(X2).
Phase 1
Phase 1
Moogles will pop up as a function of time. The phase is a damage check and all of the moogles have unique properties.
Moogles will gradually pop up over time, with only Kupdi Koop present at the start. He uses Spinning Mogshield, a point-blank AoE, but has nothing else noteable. Immediately after Kupdi Koop is defeated, Kupqu Kogi and Kupta Kapa will spawn. Kupqu Kogi casts Mograin of death, a damage AoE cast on every player, who should spread out to avoid overlapping, while Kupta Kapa casts 1000 Kuporize Swipe, a cone frontal AoE. Once they are defeated, Puksi Riko and Kupli Kipp will appear and attack. Puksi Riko casts Moogleday Night fever, a line AoE, while Kupli Kipp casts Pom Holy, a small damage AoE that may force players to begin dancing for a few seconds.

*PLD: Charms people and responds to hate (You can keep him on the tank).
The last two Mooglesguard, Pukla Puki and Pukna Pako, will then drop down into the arena. Pukla Puki casts Pom Meteor, which summons 4 meteors signaled by falling Moogle heads towards red circles. Players should go into these circles to prevent the Moogle heads from hitting the ground and inflicting unavoidable damage. Meanwhile, Pukna Pako will cast a tankbuster, Moogle Thrust, so tanks should prepare with mitigation abilities. Once they are defeated, all the Mooglesguard will get up, now untargettable, and summon the boss, Good King Moogle Mog XII. The King casts Memento Moogle, inflicting hard unavoidable damage, while the Mooglesguard disappear and leave you to fight the King.
Phase 2
The King will be the only enemy targettable, and defeating him will the end the trial, but this phase will have many mechanics to look out for:
*Good King's Decree: Throughout the fight, the King will summon his Mooglesguard, still untargettable, to bombard the raid with their abilities shown in Phase 1, only much more serious.
** First Decree: The King first summons Pukna Pako and Kupqu Kogi, and the former casts Pom Bog, creating a poison AoE in the middle of the arena. Meanwhile, the King casts Mog Stone IV, a stack marker, but be prepared to spread out afterwards, as Kupqu Kogi then casts Mograin of death. After that, the King casts Pom Holy.
** Second Decree: The King next summons  Kupdi Koop, Puksi Piko, and Kupta Kapa. Aside from Puksi Piko, the King and the other two Mooglesguard begin casting massive AoEs named Moogle-Go-Round, soon covering the entire arena in AoEs. Stay on the Moogle who begin casting Moogle-Go-Round next, then move to the King when he finishes casting to have a safe spot. Once the AoEs are done, Puksi Piko will cast Moogleday Night fever in the safe spot, forcing players to run to safety. After that, the King casts Twin Pom Meteor, the first time players will ever see a tankbuster stack marker, meaning the tanks should stack together to survive it, and then Pom Holy once more.
** Third Decree: Lastly, the King summons Kupli Kipp and Pukla Puki. After Pukla Puki casts Pom Meteor again, the King casts Mog Comet, summoning circle AoEs that being chasing random players around. Once that is done, players should go inside the circles and mitigate the Moogle Heads. Kupli Kipp then casts Pom Stone III, covering the ciruclar middle in a AoE, and then the edges and middle. Once the middle AoE has gone, go there to avoid the second part of Pom Stone III. The King will immedietly cast Mog Stone IV, followed in rapid succession by Mog Creation, a Line Aoe, so players should spread out to avoid being hit once the stack is dealt with.

*WAR: Aoe cone that does some damage. Decent hitting auto attack. Large Aoe Steel Cyclone as the fight goes on and some moogles die. Simply get out of the large circle if you're not a tank. Circle is black with a green outline. King gets this when he dies. Responds to hate.
After that, the King casts Pom Holy, as well as a tankbuster, 1000 Kuponze Charge. The King then repeats the Good King's Decree cycle as shown above until he is defeated.

*BLM: Casts Flare which has a large range and needs to be stunned or silenced. Ring is a big orange ring on the ground. King gets meteor when it dies. Avoidable. Somewhat responsive to hate.

*RNG: Sits in one spot towards the outside and will eagle eye shot people periodically. Doesn't respond to hate. Eagle eye shot is a 5 hit attack that adds up to about 1k. It will mark someone when it does it.
Alas, the distance to the land below proved too great for little moogle wings. After much deliberation, it was decided that the journey must be made by rope, the longest that has ever been woven. That is, all of them save for Good King Moggle Mog XII, who had not the means to lower himself.

For the fight, have everyone try to kill PLD before the other moogles pop. Avoid the circle stun that it does. If the other moogles pop, go for the BLM while MT finishes the PLD off solo. RNG and BLM pop next. MT will finish PLD and start to work on RNG who will go to the outside and sit there. The rest of the party proceeds on the kill order with the OT trying to tank as many of the other moogles as possible and keeping them off of healers. MT will pick up the WAR and keep soloing the RNG while positioning the WAR so that his overpower is oriented outside of the circle. Ignore the WAR for this entire phase. Just keep him overpowering the outside and solo the RNG. The group will continue killing moogles and finish the RNG off just in time for them to summon the King.

Only the WAR should be alive when King is summoned meaning that Momento Moogle will do very little damage. If more than the WAR is alive by the time they summon, you will take more damage, with 3 moogles up being a wipe.
Mourning their lost king and touched by his sacrifice, the moogles have since abstained from naming a successor to the crown. Even now, they hold fast to the belief that their beloved monarch will one day return before them in all his might and majesty.

Phase 2
MT gets hate on King as soon as he comes up (you can attack him while he's charming momento moogle) and pulls him to the very edge. MT will also provoke the WAR and keep shield lobbing/tomahawking/flashing both while kiting in a semi-circle fashion around the edge. This is all the MT does the entire fight. Keep the WAR and the king out of the BRD songs and keep running back and forth along the edge of the circle path.

The rest of the party proceeds along the kill order with the OT saving his stun for BLM flare.

Kupta Kapa: Kupo?! Who in the seven hells are they!?

The whole fight is a damage check. The king will do momento moogle in phase 2 to check how many moogles are alive and if too many are alive, you will all die because your damage was too slow.
Kupqu Kogi: Meddling adventurers, I'd wager!

As long as the king's line attack and the WAR's aoe are as far from the rest of the party as possible and facing the outside, you should have no trouble winning.
Kupdi Koop: Mogglesguard, to arms! Defend the king, kupo!
Loot
For defeating the King like Ifrit(HM), Garuda(HM) and Titan(HM), you will get a reward.

Good King Moggle Mog, the Twelfth of His Name, has once more been called forth by the Mogglesguard. Though the king is not considered a primal in the strictest sense, he poses a threat not unlike that of the beastman gods, in that his influence could corrupt his people's peaceful nature. And so, like those other aether-starved beings, he too must be felled for the sake of the realm.

— In-game description

Thornmarch (Hard) is a level 50 trial introduced in patch 2.1. As of patch 6.2, extensive changes have been implemented to streamline the encounter, as this is the first mandatory 8-player duty that new players will participate in.

Strategy

Aggressive difficulty r6.png King of Moogles: Good King Moggle Mog XII

Owing to its lack of an ilvl sync, enemies' health can be downed quickly and thus not all mechanics listed below may be experienced. Initially, the Mooglesguard must be defeated before the boss, Good King Moggle Mog XII, appears. Each of the moogles has a class/job and name to tell them apart:

Phase 1

  • Good King's Decree: Throughout the fight, the King will summon his Mooglesguard, still untargettable, to bombard the raid with their abilities shown in Phase 1, only much more serious.
    • First Decree: The King first summons Pukna Pako and Kupqu Kogi, and the former casts Pom Bog, creating a poison AoE in the middle of the arena. Meanwhile, the King casts Mog Stone IV, a stack marker, but be prepared to spread out afterwards, as Kupqu Kogi then casts Mograin of death. After that, the King casts Pom Holy.
    • Second Decree: The King next summons Kupdi Koop, Puksi Piko, and Kupta Kapa.
    • Third Decree: Lastly, the King summons Kupli Kipp and Pukla Puki.

After that, the King casts Pom Holy, as well as a tankbuster, 1000 Kuponze Charge. The King then repeats the Good King's Decree cycle as shown above until he is defeated.

Legend holds that, in a time long forgotten, mooglekind abided in the heavens as loyal servants of the gods.

However, a war of deific proportions would erupt, triggered by a feud over a single goblet of wine. Growing weary of the conflict, the reigning moogle monarch, Good King Moggle Mog XII, resolved to lead his people to the realm of mortals in secret, that they might again know a life of peace.

Alas, the distance to the land below proved too great for little moogle wings. After much deliberation, it was decided that the journey must be made by rope, the longest that has ever been woven.
