"The soul is the soul, and the flesh the flesh."

To the Dotharl, the body is but a vessel for the soul and is not indicative of one's true nature. Women may be reborn as men, and vice versa, as was the case for Sadu, who for several incarnations was born a male. Koko understands this well, having returned in the vessel of a man after dying as a woman. Yet while such simple concepts are easily understood by all Dotharl, it being a frequent occurrence, Koko has had to explain it many times to foreign travelers, who often struggle to understand. Koko's current vessel has seen twenty-five summers and has a knack for eating large quantities of food quickly. He is also quite proud of his hair, which he styles in a manner he supposedly once found attractive in his previous life.
