The Knights of the Barracuda were once the naval force for Limsa Lominsa. They were initially separate from The Maelstrom, and served as both military and security, waging battles against the increasing numbers of pirates. Following the Seventh Umbral Calamity however, they were completely integrated into the Maelstrom in order to better command and coordinate relief efforts. Originally the Knights of the Barracuda commanded nine squadrons and an infantry unit known as The Yellowjackets, however in recent times only five of the original nine squadrons are currently active as part of the Crimson Fleet.
